About the Role

Two - Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC, LCSW, LCAC) – Mobile Crisis Accelerated Program (MCAP)

Position Summary:
The Licensed Mental Health Worker/Social Worker provides rapid crisis intervention and stabilization services to individuals and families in the community. This role is in collaboration with peer support specialists, dispatch staff, and community partners to ensure compassionate, immediate, and effective care.

Key Responsibilities

Deliver crisis intervention services in homes, schools, hospitals, and community settings.
Conduct social risk assessments in emotional, behavioral, substance use or mental health crises.
Provide short-term, crisis-focused treatment to stabilize clients until follow-up services are secured.
Collaborate with law enforcement social workers, courts, schools, and treatment facilities to coordinate care and referrals.
Respond to emergency calls and provide crisis de-escalation, safety planning, and linkage to resources.
Screen for appropriate level of care and coordinate placements or hospital admissions if necessary.
Maintain accurate, timely documentation including assessments, safety plans, and case notes.
Participate withpeer support specialist maybe on call or as program grows work alternative shifts
Serve as a liaison to community providers, offering consultation and collaborative planning.


Reports to the Program Director
Full time position with Salary ($60k-$65) plus Benefits

Requirements

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

·  Master’s degree in social work or psychology, Counseling or Counseling Psychology

·  Limited or full licensure in the State of Indiana as a licensed master social worker, professional counselor, marriage and family therapist, or psychologist, OR be eligible for a limited license as stated above and obtain that licensure within 3 months of hire.

·  Possession of a valid driver’s license and access to reliable transportation for job related use

·  Thorough working knowledge of the practices and principles of psychological, emotional, and sociological assessment and diagnosis

·  Thorough working knowledge of professional ethics and standards of practice

·  Lived experiences with mental illness/developmental disabilities/substance use disorders valued

·  Computer skills including word processing, spreadsheets, email, database management, and data entry skills

·  Demonstrated experience communicating clearly and concisely in stressful situations understanding how to de-escalate crisis situations and problem solve.

·  Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written

·  Available for on-call services 24 hours a day, 7 days a week (on a rotating basis)

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

·  Full Licensure in the State of Indiana as a licensed master social worker, professional counselor, marriage and family therapist, or psychologist · 

·  One year of experience in community-based crisis intervention

·  Specialized training and at least one year of experience in the examination, evaluation, and treatment of minors and their families.
