Program Coordinator – Youth and Family Programs Sounds of Sarah, Inc.

Position Overview: The Program Coordinator for Youth and Family Programs at Sounds of Sarah, Inc. plays a vital role in developing and delivering prevention-focused programming that supports youth, strengthens families, and builds healthier communities. This position works closely with schools, community partners, and families to expand access to education and resources related to substance use prevention and mental health awareness. The ideal candidate brings experience in program development and community outreach, along with a working understanding of grant-supported programs, and is passionate about creating meaningful, sustainable impact across Lake County.
Key Responsibilities
Development and expansion of youth and family programs, including school-based and community education initiatives• Coordinate program planning, scheduling, and delivery of services• Monitor program progress and track participation. Community Outreach and Engagement• Lead outreach efforts to schools, community organizations, and family-serving agencies• ncrease awareness and participation in youth and family programming• Identify opportunities for program growth and new partnerships. Event and Training Coordination• Coordinate youth workshops, family education sessions, and community presentations• Support planning and execution of community events and outreach activities• Ensure all materials, resources, and logistics are prepared for successful program delivery. Administrative and Reporting Support• Maintain accurate records of program participation and activities• Assist with data collection and reporting for grants and program evaluation• Support preparation of program summaries, reports, and presentations• Ensure timely and organized documentation
Community Outreach and Engagement• Lead outreach efforts to schools, community organizations, and family-serving agencies• Build and maintain relationships with school administrators, counselors, and community partners• Increase awareness and participation in youth and family programming• Identify opportunities for program growth and new partnerships. Event and Training Coordination• Coordinate youth workshops, family education sessions, and community presentations• Support planning and execution of community events and outreach activities• Ensure all materials, resources, and logistics are prepared for successful program delivery. Grant and Administrative Support• Assist with coordination and implementation of grant-funded programs• Support data collection, tracking, and reporting to meet grant requirements• Help ensure programs are aligned with grant goals, timelines, and deliverables• Maintain accurate records and documentation for program and funding compliance• Assist in preparing reports, summaries, and supporting materials for funders. Coordinate communication between staff, schools, families, and community partners•
Qualifications• Bachelor’s degree in social services, public health, education, nonprofit management, or related field preferred• Minimum of 2–3 years of experience in program development, program coordination, and community outreach• Experience working with youth, families, or school-based programs• Basic understanding of grant-funded programs and reporting requirements• Strong organizational and project management skills• Excellent communication and relationship-building abilities• Ability to manage multiple programs and priorities effectively. Some fundraising experiences.
Preferred Qualifications•
Experience with family and youth education programming•
Knowledge of substance use prevention, outreach and mental health•
Experience working with schools or educational systems• Experience supporting grant reporting or program evaluation.

Work Environment and Expectations• Combination of office, school-based, and community settings• Some evening and occasional weekend hours required for events and family programming• Local travel within Lake County and surrounding areas
Compensation• Salary range: $40,000 – $45,000 annually (based on experience)• Benefits and professional development opportunities available.
